AKIM: Care for Israel's Mentally Disabled

AKIM attends to the needs of 30,000 mentally disabled children and adults and their families. It offers professional care and attention to this population, which has increased in size, due to the massive immigrations of Russian and Ethiopean newcomers.

AKIM's social service promotes the establishment and operation of services for the mentally handicapped in the community, including day care centers for infants, and for adults, hostels, apartments in the community, employment and job placement programs in the open market.
