Eilat Internship Program: Toronto Residents Only

Only open to Toronto Residents ONLY

There are two volunteer sessions: Fall/Winter and Summer

Fall and Winter Volunteers: September – May

Eligibility:
Volunteers must be 18 years old and have graduated from high school. We place volunteers up to the age of 75 as long as they are in good physical condition.

Commitment:
Volunteers must give a minimum of a 2-4 week commitment. Extending ones stay is possible if there is space.

Cost:
Volunteers need to pay a security deposit of $100, which will be returned at the completion of the volunteer experience. Flight is not included.

Stipend:
Volunteers receive a small stipend for transportation to and from work.

Accommodation:
Volunteers will be provided with accommodation in an apartment with three bedrooms each bedroom has two beds. There will be other volunteers there so sharing a room is a probability. A small kitchenette is stocked with plates, cutlery etc. There is laundry in the building.
The apartment building next door has a pool which volunteers can use.

The apartment complex does not have a safe, so please do not bring anything that is truly valuable.

There is NO wireless in the building

The only thing that you need to bring for the apartment is towels and sheets for single beds. Please click here for winter packing list:

Internet and Computer Access:
There is internet access in the Library, where our P2K office is situated. It is 10 shekels for the summer for unlimited access during library hours.

Cell Phone:

Staff:
The Jewish Agency for Israel has two full time staff that run the Partnership 2000 office.

Volunteer Options:
Volunteers will work between 35-40 hours per work. The work week is usually Sunday – Thursday however some placements maybe different. Volunteers should be prepared to be flexible. We make every effort to provide specifics regarding work placements, the unexpected can happen.

Sumer Volunteers: May – August

Program Dates are as follows:

May 12 – June 12
May 12 - June 26
June 2 – June 26
June 30 – August 3
June 30 - August 14
July 14 - August 14.

Eligibility:
Volunteers must be 18 years old and have graduated from high school. It is necessary to go through a personal interview prior to acceptance

Cost:
There is a cost of $500 for the program this includes a $200 security deposit which will be returned at the completion of the program. Flight is not included.

Included:
Participants receive a Private bus travel from Tel Aviv return; shared accommodation; medical insurance; small stipend for transportation to and from work in Eilat.

Accommodation:
Volunteers will be provided with accommodation in an apartment with two/three bedrooms each bedroom has two beds. A small kitchenette is stocked with plates, cutlery etc. There is laundry in the building. The apartment building next door has a pool which volunteers can use.

We also have on staff two Canadian madrichim (staff), you will be coordinating the program for May through August. They will also be developing programs in conjunction with the local Israeli community. The madrichim will be available to the volunteers 24/7 for all emergency needs.
