Since its inauguration in 2005, the web portal has provided thousands of people from around the world with volunteer opportunities in Israel. The iVolunteer site is run by the National Council for Volunteering in Israel (CVI), a non-profit, non-governmental organization. In cooperation with many agencies and organizations, CVI has been able to compile volunteer information from many agencies into a single user-friendly database. Some of CVI's biggest supporters include: The Jewish Agency, The American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC), The Israel Association of Community Centres, The Ministry of Social Affairs and Social Services, Microsoft, and Intel.

While iVolunteer's Hebrew portal mainly addresses volunteer opportunities and information related to the Israeli population, its English portal has been developed to address other groups. The two target audiences that iVolunteer aims to address in its English portal are individuals living abroad who are seeking to spend time in Israel and the local Israeli Anglo community.

iVolunteer aims to provide its readers with information related to volunteers in general and with information regarding volunteer opportunities in Israel. The site aims to match applicants with volunteer work as best benifits their skills and the needs of the organizations. English speakers are offered a wide range of activities that benefit Israeli society, including teaching English to students, volunteering on Kibbutz's, and participating in environmental conservation projects.

Please feel free to explore our site and to educate yourselves on all the volunteer opportunities that Israel has to offer.
